Wired for Impact provides scholarship grants for undergraduate girls studying courses in STEM fields

African girls and women around the world are smart and intelligent; however, it is worrisome to find that girls and women stay clear of courses that are regarded as exclusive to boys.
The Wired for Impact program addresses this issue by providing scholarship grants to less privileged and deserving young African girls/women in federal or state-owned universities/colleges studying courses in STEM-related fields.
With the growing trends and innovation in technology and ICT, Africa must not be left behind in the development of nations. The high population of girls and women across Africa only means that more women will be required to fill more important roles and positions in Africa and the global economy.
GIDN works to increase STEM literacy and awareness for girls to become more involved in math and science and receive quality education in these subjects. We hope to grow the number of young women working in technology and give underprivileged girls a chance to become masters in these fields, as well as empower their confidence, and keep them on track by helping them set goals while working hard towards achieving them.
By providing scholarships and mentoring we hope to raise girls and young women’s interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Young girls may apply for a scholarship grant of $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) to cover tuition, books and stationery.
